Wood that used as building materials include :
Ash, Cherry, Fir, Hickory, Mahogany, Maple, Oak, Pine, Redwood, Spruce, Hemlock, Teak, Walnut, Cedar. (Generally, hardwood is good for flooring and other furnitures)

Building Materials - Granite or Marble?

Granite and marble both are nature stones and very popular building matrials.
Granite is siliceous stone and composed mainly of silica or quartz like particles. Granite is formed deep in the earth’s mantle at extremely high temperatures and is very hard and resistant.
The Marble family: limestone, marble, onyx, and travertine. They are calcareous stones and composed mainly of calcium carbonate. So they are not hard as granite but eaier to cut and carve.
